Keeping your pet healthy and happy is our mission at Greystone Animal Hospital. A consistent vaccination schedule along with wellness visits plays a major role in providing your adult canine with the highest possible quality of life. Both core and non-core vaccinations are an important part of caring for your pet. Our veterinarian has years of experience providing Burnaby pet owners with reliable vaccination services.

Core Vaccines

Required core vaccinations protect your adult dog from life-threatening diseases. High on the list of core vaccines is the canine rabies vaccine. Rabies is deadly and vaccinating your dog against rabies is the smartest and easiest way to protect them from spreading and dying from rabies. Additionally, the canine distemper/adenovirus(hepatitis)/parvovirus vaccine (DAP or DHP) is required for all dogs. This vaccination protects their immune system from these highly contagious viruses.

Non-Core Vaccines

Non-core vaccinations are dictated by your family/pet lifestyle and geographic location. Where and how you live can determine risks for certain canine diseases. Many boarding facilities also require certain non-core vaccinations, making them essential if you are a frequent traveler. Non-core vaccines include Lyme, Bordetella, parainfluenza, canine influenza, and other assorted vaccinations. Discuss your pet’s lifestyle with our veterinarian staff during your wellness visit. Together you can determine which, if any, non-core vaccines will be beneficial to your adult canine’s overall health and wellbeing.

We are committed to working with you to provide your adult dog with the best life possible. Annual wellness visits are the optimum time to schedule any of your pet’s required vaccinations. During your adult dog’s nose-to-tail wellness visit, we can assess your pet’s overall health and vaccination needs. Vaccinations are not only important for the safety of your pet. They are also essential to you and your family’s health, as well as the health of other pets and pet owners in your community. Immunizing your pet not only protects them from potentially fatal diseases but also eliminates any possibility of your dog transmitting said condition to any living being.
